Harold Hunter! My husband and I were so shocked to see the news on the web while we were doing a search on Sunday. I couldn't believe it and hoped it was some weird typo. Although I only met him once, I could tell alot about him. I was at a contest in Philly and went to the Wawa for something. That's when I saw him just buying something to drink before coming to the skatepark. It was a Grom championship and they were there representing Zoo. I recognized him from the Zoo York skate videos that my son has. I went right up to him and called his name. He just turned wondering who I was and then had the nicest smile. Later, at the skatepark, he sat with me and my son just talking so openly and friendly about his love of the sport just encouraging all the kids there signing autographs and drawing crazy skylines of NY and caricatures on boards and helmets... He was a kind soul and made a huge impression on my son who was just new to skateboarding and competing at the age of 10. We are all very saddened by the news of his passing--just don't want it to be true. His memory will live forever in our minds. May your sweet soul rest in peace Harold. The Welty Family

Harold was born on my brother's birthday and passed on my mother's birthday. We were at least a few degrees apart -- but starting with KIDS I never thought it was too far. A life fully lived from the accounts here... RIP Harold Hunter. Thank you.

I was Harold's girl back in 98. He was the most hysterical cat I ever knew. He always had mad love for me, like no other guy did and I love him for that. I have not see Harold in a year or so . He was having a bit too much fun for me but I thgouht of him often. He was such a gnuine, loving, funny person who lookd out for his freinds. I wish I had been able to tell him how much I loved him. HOw much he will be missed. My dookie!

Just found out today...
One thing I loved about Harold was that even if you were out of skating for 10 years he would still be the first person to walk up to you at a random bar and give you a pound and see how things were going in your life...
Harold... nobody can ever replace you....
