I don't skate, but I grew up in NYC and Harold was always around, friends of friends and larger than life...
Most heads recall his role up on the big screen in the film that finally finally captured the essence of what it was like to grow up in NYC.
One of my favorite memories was him and some friends getting thrown out of some wack club one night for something dumb, and the scene that ensueed. Most people getting bounced from a venue are angry and upset and violent, but Harold, well he just laughed it off. He was so hilarious, just dissing the bouncer, going off on him, in front of fifty people--he was a comedian on stage. The the whole line waiting to get in was cracking up. Still makes me smile to this day. Just unforgetable the Rockstar Bearings spot...
Harold, I just saw you last week on the LES--you stopped by and hung out for a bit--you looked good--good as you ever did. Keep an eye on us all up there. Bless you, bless your family---we'll miss you mate.
